Scarriff based Auctioneer James Treacy is the latest man to get involved in the property business in East Clare.  He is a Graduate of Galway Mayo Institute of Technology, from which he holds a Diploma in Property Management, a course which is recognized by the Irish Auctioneers and Valuers Institute.  He is also a Graduate of Teagasc in Ennis and holds a Certificate in Rural Enterprise, which is the course necessary for young farmers.

He is currently a final year Law and Accounting student at the
University of Limerick and hopes to become a solicitor and also work as an Auctioneer, giving his clients a comprehensive package including free conveyancing as part of the deal in selling ones own property.

He has a huge portfolio of property on his books, already worth in excess of 20m euro.  He is currently on the lookout for small to large agricularal properties with a house included on the farm. He has a large number of clients looking for forestry land, both planted and new ground.  He also has a number of U.K clients looking for investment property (Property already leased), anything up to 20M euros, which are quiet scarce at the moment.  He also advises Landlords or Tenants in Rent Review disputes in Commercial Properties and also acts on behalf of a Property Occupier on how much rates they should be paying on their property to the local
Co. Council.  He also acts on behalf of Property Owners whose lands are being acquired by Compulsory Purchase Orders for the building of Roads etc.  He also offers a comprehensive Property Management service on all Residential and Commercial Properties in the Clare/Limerick/North Tipperary/South Galway area.  This includes Rent Collection, Property Maintence, Inspections, and in the case of Commercial Properties, Rent Reviews and Ratable Valuation Appeals, from initial strategic advice to presentation of cases before the Valuation Tribunal.

He is not a member of the Irish Auctioneers and Valuers Institute but he intends becoming a member, at that stage he will be in a position to carry out mortgage Valuations for Financial Institutions and Private Clients.

When he gets his degree in Law and Accounting he intends doing a Diploma in Arbitration Law in University College Dublin and a PhD in UCD in Law, which will enable him to practice as a Property Arbitrator.

He is currently writing a textbook entitled "Valuations Handbook for the Irish Estate Agent", which he hopes to have published by January.  It will be the only book of its kind in Ireland as most of the textbooks are British.

He has a wealth of experience in the Estate Agency field, having worked for Fitzgerald Auctioneers in Galway and leading Commercial Property Consultants Mason Owen & Lyons in Dublin and their Associate Office in Liverpool, and the fourth largest Retail Property Consultants in the United Kingdom, Mason Owen & Partners

James would especially like to thank his clients for their support this far and looks forward to the future.
